Magnetic Fractions is part of a new range of educational toys which has been designed to encourage children to stay tuned in even when the nature of the game is to learn!
In support of a childs early years development, the magnetic fractions pack is colourful, pictoral and educational, designed to help teach children the fundamentals of fractions, percentages and decimals without them even realising it. The magnetic board has been designed to show how one figure equates to the same in percentage or decimal terms, for example that 1/5th is the same as 20% and 0.2. Answers are on the reverse, making it easy for children to check if they have got the answers right, and the wipe-clean board makes it easy to rub out any mistakes and start again without lots of messy crossings out.
The fractions pack includes a magnetic, wipe-clean board, pen, and activities to help guide children along and encourage their development in basic numeracy.
Activities to try:
GRID SIDE OF BOARD
Match fractions: Using the top grid place one or more fraction pieces from the same colour in first row. Using other fractions, match length and count how many of each type needed.
ACTIVITY SIDE OF BOARD
Colour in one or more segments for each picture, then find the fractions or decimals that match.
